Oyedepo finally responds to the sacking of 40 pastors by him (VIDEO)

Two days, a pastor known as Peter Godwin said that, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, relieved him and 40 other pastors in Ekiti State of their pastoral duties and their accommodations because they refused to grow their churches to a height approved by the Winners Chapel Growth Index.

Recall that, Pastor Peter Godwin were among the resident pastors employed when Bishop David Oyedepo actualized the mandate, God gave to him, which is to plant over 10,000 churches around the world during the advent of Covid-19 in Nigeria in 2020. Little did he know that, he will only be pastor for less than a year.

Bishop David Oyedepo is not just the founder of Faith Tabernacle and Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel, he is also the Chancellor of Covenant University and Landmark University plus author, businessman, educationalist and architect.

Bishop David Oyedepo is known as one of the pioneers of the Christian charismatic movement in Africa and has been referred as one of the most powerful preachers in Nigeria. His church, Winner’s Chapel, is being located in over 300 cities, in all the 36 states of Nigeria and in several cities of 45 African countries, Dubai, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Brief biography of Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo was born on September 27, 1954 in Osogbo, Nigeria but he is a native of Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. He was raised in a mixed religious family. His father, Ibrahim, was a Muslim healer while his mother, Dorcas, was a member of the Holy Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (C&S), a branch of the Aladura movement in Nigeria.

He was raised by his grandmother in Osogbo, who introduced him to the virtues of Christian life via early morning prayers which she attended with him. He also claims that, his grandmother taught him the importance of tithing. Oyedepo studied architecture at the Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin. He also received a PhD in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, US.

After he received his PhD, Bishop David Oyedepo worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin before resigning to concentrate on the missionary work, he was called by God through an 18-hour vision in May 1981. On September 17, 1983, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, ordained David and his wife, Florence Abiola Akano (known as Faith Abiola Oyedepo after her marriage) to become pastors and officially commissioned the new church. Five years later, Oyedepo was ordained as Bishop.

Bishop David Oyedepo is the wealthiest preacher in Nigeria with a net worth of over US$150 million. The church owns four private jets and several buildings, including in London and the United States of America. Bishop David Oyedepo has written over 70 books apart from periodicals. He is the chairman/publisher of Dominion Publishing House (DPH), a publishing arm of the ministry. Dominion Publishing House (DPH) has over 4 million prints in circulation to date.

Through Bishop David Oyedepo; Covenant University, Faith Academy and Kingdom Heritage Model Schools have been established to equip the youth for global impact. The construction of a third university named Crown University is already underway, located in Calabar, Cross River, Nigeria.

In other news, the founder of the Winner’s Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo narrated how he was saved from a cobra that hid in the wardrobe of his office. He also added that, he worked in that floor for seven hours, the previous night but the cobra only stood up when the cleaner was cleaning the room after he has left the floor.

According to Gistreel, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has finally responded to the sacking of 40 pastors in Ekiti State by him, in a video. He confirmed that, the church sacked those 40 pastors in Ekiti State because they were unfruitful and he doesn’t like blatant failures. The pastor also boasted of having employed more people than most states in Nigeria. He also revealed that, Winner’s Chapel has never owed any worker a dime and they don’t intend on working with failures.
